Update: leWrap Plates && Baking Chocolate Muffins!

Today had tennis coaching in the morning. Was really pissed because I couldn't hit the ball correctly since the teacher had to change my grip. Hopefully will get used to it soon, because it's depressing when you can't even play a game.

At lunch, had this really nice 'plate' from the store leWrap. It's so good! Filled with nice stuff. It was just called a plate, so no idea what it really is called, but basically there's meat with rice and sauce on one side and side salad with choice of sauce on the other.

Then afterwards, went to my neighbour's place, Richard, to bake muffins. Since he was learning, and he had absolutely no idea how to make muffins, or ever baked them in his life before, we used cake mix. (:

I know it says it's cake, but we didn't have a cake pan so we made muffins. ;D
Anyhoo, we were adding the ingredients to the mix, and then we realised we needed butter. Turned out he only had this olive oil thing, which was really dodgy looking, so had to run over to my place to grab butter. BUT the mix needed 3 tablespoons, but we only had about 2 tablespoons. We didn't risk it for the batch, so we had less butter but for the icing, we had to use his olive oil blend thing. And surprisingly they turned out nicer that way. :D

Before icing.

After icing, this is at my house. (:
He came over after dividing them equally, and we ate them at my place. (: They were honestly really good. Had to laugh at how much he was boasting, and how much I was standing there 'supervising'. Well, come on, I did help, but what's the point in doing everything, because he won't learn anything. :P

Anyhoo, it was super fun! I hadn't done anything with him in ages, so it was also nice to talk to him as well.

So tomorrow is school, still haven't completed my essay, but half way through it. (:

Shall speak soon, thanks for reading!

Update: Science Prac, School Art Show, Friend's B'day & Drawings

Sorry for the long title, it's because I had a long week and haven't blogged in a while, so decided to compile all the highlights and stuff from the week. It's Saturday now. (: I can't remember all the things I did, but the photos will be in chronological order. (:

So in a science lesson, we are learning 'fighting disease'. Gruesome, and confronting but it's super interesting, in my opinion. (: So we were doing a prac on things that have bacteria, and basically we use a sterilized rod, and smear it on a dirty surface, and then wipe it over this jelly-like substance called agar, which makes bacteria grow, because it kinda 'feeds' the bacteria. Anyhoo, our group did my friend's sock, HAHAHAHA, I wonder what kind of dirty stuff would be in that - ;)

We had to heat up/burn the rods to sterilize it, and surprisingly it made this really beautiful green flame. Tried to take a picture of it but they kept burning out before my camera could focus. We burnt all of the rods and so this is the best one I could find because it had the most rods in it. ;)

It kinda looks like an aurora. ;3
On the Wednesday, there was a school art show after school hours, and so Julia ( www.littlemisscrayons.wordpress.com ) and Eileen to have a look. I personally, was more interested in seeing the HSC works, because I'm considering doing Visual Arts next year, and wanted to know the standards. AND, I'm reconsidering, after looking at it, it's so professionalll, holyyy.

Little sneakpeak - with Julia's body in it, hahaha ;) ♥
On Thursday, it was Jennifer's birthday, and since she transferred to another school last year, could only Facebook and text her birthday wishes. However, Julia and I both planned to give her a present on Friday because I had Matrix. So on Friday, gave her these flowers which were really eyecatching. Really liked the idea of the tie-dye rose(?) in the middle. Happy birthday again Jen! ♥

Oh! On Thursday night, started a drawing of Angelina Jolie, which was super hard and challenging, but it felt good to just concentrate on drawing, even though I didn't do much homework that night. Today, on Saturday, continued it as well, so there are two photos of progress right now. (:

Picture I'm trying to draw

Can't get her lips right - grr >:(
Today, after Chinese school, had to make an 'emergency' appointment to the dentist because I've been noticing my gum has been bleeding a lot and is swollen, and so I had to go and get it checked. Turns out I'm not brushing correctly, and it's perfectly common for people who have braces, so they gave me these really small brushes so I can brush better. Had a scare - thought it was gum disease or something, which it can turn into.

Not much to say, but really should do my English essay, but man, just can't be bothered - sigh.

Shall update again soon, making muffins with my neighbour tomorrow, hopefully can take photos of the final product. (:

Thanks for reading!

Favourites: July 2012

SONGS:

Found two really nice and cute songs, both by the same artist. Her stage name is Charity Vance, I'm not sure what her real name is. But here are two cute songs. (:

'Two Birds' - Charity Vance

'Where do you want to be' - Charity Vance

BOOKS:

Really liking 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami at the moment. It's so mind-twisting and the ideas are so strange but amazing.

MOVIES:

Have to say 'The Amazing Spiderman'. Thought I wouldn't like this one as much as the other one, because it was one of my favourites, but have to say this was really amazing. And it made much more sense. (:

BEAUTY:

Sunscreen. Can't say much, lolz.

Recipe: Caesar Salad!

So tonight, I made some caesar salad as part of our dinner. Got inspired by the school's caesar salad which I really like and ate recently. This makes for about 4 people. (:

Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of croutons
- a lettuce
- shaved parmesan cheese
- 150g of shredded bacon
- creamy caesar sauce

I'm not sure if this is exactly how you make caesar salad, kinda made it up, as you can see I didn't put chicken in it. Ah wells.

Okay. Steps. (:

Steps:
1. Boil the eggs and fry the shredded bacon until brown around the edges. Will take some time.
2. Peel the eggs, and set aside. (:
3. Wash the lettuce, and break into smaller pieces before placing into a bowl.
4. Add the bacon, croutons, and cheese and evenly spread sauce.
5. Cut the eggs in half and place accordingly onto salad. (:

AND YOU'RE DONE.

I put it into a massive bowl because we like to share food. ;D
Hope you enjoyed this and you'll try and make it sometime. ;D

Update: First Week of School && Pulled Muscle.

So the first week of school has ended, and I am very VERY sleep deprived. I slept so much in the holidays, it's not fair that I can't get the same amount of sleep when school is on. Hmph.

School has been kinda hectic and I just can NOT wake up in the morning, it's just so cold. But eventually I'll just have to get used to it, really miss summer. I mean in summer, I'll literally get up out of bed because it's just so nice to wake up to a sunny and bright room that's NOT cold. ;D

Enough of my pessimistic complaints, basically during sport on Thursday, I pulled a muscle. To be specific, a groin muscle. Oh god, so embarrassing. Hahahahaha....

I can't really remember how I pulled it, but this would make it my first pulled muscle ever. I think I took a step too big when running and then I just felt this really big pain on my left inner thigh and ended up limping to my goal. Teacher made me sit down with a half melted icepack to place on it.

Today ( Friday ) it feels better, but can't do some things without straining it, such as I can't bend over without it hurting a lot, and I can't run. So might not be going to tennis training this Sunday, which would be good because I really need to work on my English homework and essay. ):

Today, after school, had Matrix coaching and our class was really packed. This really talkative girl, not going to name names, is in our class, she's really funny but has this 'in your face' kinda attitude. I have no idea why I even mentioned her, lolz.

Came home and my sister left me some chips? Hahahaha, it's this little thing we have. I used to save things such as an extra lollipop or chocolate from something special and give it to my sister when I get home. So I guess she ate some of the packet and decided to save some for me? I have no idea, but thank you. (:

Have Chinese school tomorrow, so needa get my beauty sleep.

Toodles,
Michelle x

Update: Over Exercising & 1Q84!

So today, I went to tennis coaching in the morning, which was nice after not doing sport for about 2 weeks.

Had lunch afterwards, and I bought a book. That I really really really wanted for quite a while. It's the famous 1Q84 by the legendary Haruki Murakami. ;D He's such a great author, and I really want to read his Kafta on the Shore. But I don't think any one that I personally know, knows this book even exists. Or this author. Seriously. ): Cut. </3

Anyhoo, so happy, but it was not cheap. But that's because mine has book 1, 2 and 3, and it's just so thick ( that's what she said ) and it's seriously going to take me agessss. Maybe the rest of this year to read, considering how small the font is ( that's what she said as well :P ). I've already read some of it, it's so good, shall keep reading! Apparently, this one's not as good as Kafta on the Shore, but have to finish this one first. (:

Oh I forgot to mention, I'm not reading this in Jap, though I wish my Japanese was good enough so I could. This is the English adapted one, don't know by who, but yeah. (:

$32.95.
So went and played badminton with my family afterwards at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Hall. Super sweaty and fun!

I honestly have not done any exercise this whole holidays, been eating out a lot, and drinking a lotta sweet drinks, so unsurprisingly I've gained like 3 kilos. But I always lose it during school because of the hell there. So no sweats. ;D

Anyhoo, school is going to start soon and I'm so sad. </3 But I really enjoyed these holidays, they were perfect but the only thing is, I still haven't finished my school work. D;

Anyhoo, thanks for reading!

Update: Archery ft. old school besties && new purchases

Today met up with my old school besties, Ashly and Barbara as well with my sister at the Sydney Olympic Archery Centre and shot some arrows. ;D It was something unique and different to experience. The session was an hour and a half, and there were instructors there as well to help us. (: It was awesome, I really like archery. ♥

Was a beautiful day. (:
Anyhoo, afterwards, went out for lunch and did our little grocery shopping.

This really cute stationary store, Morning Glory, was having a 50% sale off everything so grabbed some stuff. (:

Was running out of liquid tape so bought this cute iPhone correction tape thing, and some bed socks because I only have one pair at home and that's not enough. ;P Plus, it was only like a dollar.

Originally really needed to get these overgrips for my tennis racquet at Kmart, but they didn't have any ): And I couldn't find any...BUT, I found other stuff that was on  my list at the time. ;D Got a black singlet because needed one, and DUMBELLS. Because I really need to workout more. HAHAHA, sharing these cheap ones with my mum. ♥

Black cami.
Those camis are insanely comfy for such a cheap price, hurhurhur. >: D

And got a 20% off iTunes gift card because I don't like to keep using my mum's credit card on iTunes just in case we get scammed. :D

$16. (:
Anyhoo, not much to say, but I have tennis coaching tomorrow and badminton with my family. ;D

Really going out these last few days of the holidays, because I realised I was so cooped up in the first week doing nothing, HAHAHAHA. And on Monday just going to chill the last hours of freedom. </3

Oh and you probably noticed my outfit of the days have kinda ceased, it's because I've been wearing my Varsity jacket to death these days because I'm too lazy to think of something nice to wear, so please excuse my laziness. ;3 And tomorrow I won't be able to do it either since I'll be in working out clothing, so I'm sorry, but ah wells.

Love,
Michelle ♥

Update: City ft. Julia

So today ( Friday ) met up with Julia ( www.littlemisscrayons.wordpress.com ) who I haven't seen that much  during the holidays and went to the city. We didn't really plan so we just walked, hahhahaha. We were so busy talking and we were just walking, that we didn't even know where we were heading til we both asked each other, HAHAHAH. ♥

So we ended up going to MarketCity. (:

Firstly, got some drinks from Easyway and Chatime. Mine is a passionfruit smoothie from Chatime - on the right.

So went to Galaxy World next to Chatime and played the Monopoly game which completely ate up all our tokens, lolz. So uhmm, just talked and walked after that and had lunch at the foodcourt, which was pretty nicee. (:

Went home early, and I must've been crazyy or something but walked the way home from the station. Was a complete 45 minute walk in the sun. But the weather was really nice so decided to walk it. (:

Anyhoo, that's it for now, thanks for reading!

Update: a Movie Day with Old School Bestieee ~

Don't have any pictures but basically went over to my friend's place yesterday ( Thursday ) to go watch a movie afterwards. (: Oh her name is Ashly, and we were super best friends in primary, but we don't go to the same high school anymore. I haven't seen her in about a year and a bit and we thought it'd be awesome if we met up again. When I was in primary, we had 4 people in our little 'group' and one of the them couldn't make it and we've lost contact with the other one. So only I could go. But it was stilll awesomeee ;D

So I went to her house early, and oh my goshhhh, her house is a freaking mansion. It is massivee. She has so many rooms, and it's only two storeys, not to mention a massive backyard and beautiful front yard. She has like 3 lounge rooms, two dining rooms and likeee 10 bedrooms. ;o And a laundry chute. Oh and a house maid. That's not even a quarter of it.

Anyhoo, was taken around for a house tour, god it's massive and her relatives live there with their kids, I think there's around 21 people living in that house. Not exaggerating.

So we chilled afterwards, and chatted for agesss before she showed me some kpop and stuff on her laptop. Her housemaid actually came up with this silver tray and lunch. God it was like being a queen, HAHAHA. Oh and lunch was amazingg~

So we left shortly after eating and walked to the cinemas and bought tickets to 'the Amazing Spiderman'. She'd already seen it, but she didn't mind watching again with me. ♥ We watched it in 3D, honestly I personally don't see a difference. ;P It was pretty, auh-mazing, even though I hate to admit it because I really love the original.

I think the reason why I like the new one slightly more, is because this one is slightly changed and modernised so it kinda suits me more. And this one is a bit more straightforward ish. (: And the plot is more based around science and stuff. (:

Anyhoo, afterwards, bought Boost and we chatted a bit more before I walked to the train station to go home. (:

That was basically it, but it was amazing to meet her again, and be able to catch up. (:

Sorry for this long post and no pictures, thanks for reading!

Update: Beauty Samples, Ramen, CAPS && Cake!

Okay, last night ( Saturday ) went to a family friend's place for dinner and to chill. Surprisingly, one of my family friend's there, she gave me a little box of gifts. And when I opened it, it was overflowing with beauty samples and stuff. Turns out she's really into buying stuff online, relating to Korean and Asian aesthetics and stuff, and she gets a lotta free samples with her purchases. Thought it was super nice of her!

It was packaged in this super cute Hershey's box, and I initially thought it was chocolates. ;D

Okay, lighting wasn't that good at like 12.30A.M.

Bunch of BB cream samples, masques, eyemasks and cleanserss, and that's not even half of it. ;P
Anyhoo, that made my day. (: Might be giving some away since they don't all suit me. (:

So their place is a burger stall that they own, which is awesome because we had burgers for dinner. (: Their burgers are really good, and so are their fries and nuggets, but I wanted to try their steak burger. So it looked really promising, but then it was super chewy and hard to eat, but tasted nice. ;D Next time I'm just going to stick with chicken schnitzel. ;D

It looked so goodd ~ ♥
I got home around 12A.M, which was super late, and just went to bed, lolz.

So today, met up with yet another family friend, Catherine, to go eat ramen in the city together. She came over around 10.30A.M, and unsurprisingly I only had woken up a couple minutes before...-.-

Anyhoo, we played on my sister's computer before we left. They were playing 'Bubble Trouble 2' while I was changing, before I taught her how to play 'Boxhead 2'. I haven't played that in agesss, and thank you to Julia for influencing me with that game. ;D Changed my life, and let's play again sometime. ;D

So we drove there, and my parents just dropped us off. I took them to Ajisen Ramen and we all ordered our food. Catherine and I both got the Chicken Teriyaki Ramen, and my sister got a fried eel rice box? I can't remember what it was called.

Chicken Teriyaki Ramen
So afterwards, paid and we went to take CAPS, which is an asian version of a photo booth I guess.

After taking them, completely forgot to take a photo of the end product before we snipped it up, but here is my own little pile.

They wanted to go to Morning Glory afterwards so I tagged along and took some photos of the items that kinda interested me. (:

DOMO KUN. And his baby. ;)
Cute angry birds mobile phone holder. (: Fyi, that's not my phone. ;P
Cute USA American flag pencilcases.
And straight after, met up with my parents again and we all went to Meet Fresh to have some dessert. ;D I'm so obsessed with that place. Always will be. ♥

My herbal jelly dessert. (:
So afterwards, we went home and had my sister's birthday cake. It's my sister's birthday tomorrow! So happy birthday sis! ;D ♥

She got an icecream cake from Woolies, and it was really goodddd ~ ♥

The layersss. ;D
Anyhoo, that's about it for today. Super tired after writing this post, sorry it was so long, but you know how I blog. ;P

Thanks for reading!

Update: Second Online Purchase

This is exactly the one I'm getting from eBay. (:

So this would be officially my second online purchase, ever. I'm such a noob. You might recognise this from my recent post on my lust list. Link here: http://ilikestarryskies.blogspot.com.au/2012/07/winter-2012-lust-list.html. I've been eyeing this for quite a while, and asked my mum this morning because I really wanted it. And come on, it looks awesome. :D It belonged in my life. ♥

Just a few tips for shopping on eBay, my two purchases ( link to the first one: http://ilikestarryskies.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/update-online-shopping-and-healthy.html ).

1) I only look for the ones that are top sellers, because I reckon they're the ones that most trustworthy and your stuff won't mysteriously disappear from air mail. (: And I know that might mean they have slightly higher prices, but better safe than sorry. (:

2) I open all of the 'potential purchases' in separate tabs, in the single window and compare the prices. (:

3) I avoid bids. ;P

4) and I look for free international shipping as a bonus. ;D

All the items I've gotten off eBay came with free shipping, so I'm pretty happy with that. (:

I have to admit, this was was a lot pricier than the other one I was going to get, but this one had the choice of the kinda rusty old looking metal ( as shown in the photo ), which I preferred over the shiny silver piece. (: So chose this one instead.

Now just excited to wait for it! (:

Thanks for reading, this uttermost random and short post, but really wanted to blog. (:

Love,
Michelle x

Michelle's Style | 06.07.12 && Snow White and the Huntsman

beanie - rubi shoes | jacket - kmart | badges - thrifted | shirt - jay jays | jeans - flea market | converses
Yeah, my sister didn't take very nice photos, but they'll have to do. (:

Put two photos, because the first one, you can see the shirt and jacket better. So this jacket, is the massively infamous varsity jacket that has hit Australia's market hard. This was the one I got in Kmart about a week ago, and it's super comfy. (: The shirt underneath has this really strange lightning bolt on it, which Julia pointed out looked like Harry Potter's scar. Which it does, lols.

Wanted to wear something super casual and comfy today for the movies, and I don't know, I added the beanie because the outfit seemed, kinda missing something.

Oh and the badges ( which you can't really see in the pictures ) were just something I wanted to add, because:

1) I haven't really used them, since some years ago, I had an obsession with collecting badges.
2) I wanted to personalise my jacket without major snipping. (:

Anyhoo, couldn't be bothered to make a separate update post, since they'll be super short. I went to the movies with my mum and sister today, and watched 'Snow White and the Huntsman' starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth.

To be honest, it was alright, it was pretty cliche, but still interesting. I would've liked some more action and less monologues, because no offense, but Kristen Stewart's monologues aren't exactly inspiring. Still love her though. (:

Can't say I recommend it, but I was so sick of staying at home all week long, that I HAD to do something. (:

Anyhoo, not much to say, oh! Except I got new pairs of stockings after I ripped up my old pair. ):

Thanks for reading!

Winter 2012 Lust List

Clockwise L-R:
eagle claw clamp bracelet
jeffrey campbell black litas
black bustier top
jeffrey campbell cork tardys
acid wash denim jeans
Just some things I really want at the moment and have been eyeing. However those platforms are outta reach - way too expensive, plus I can't even walk in them. (: Perhaps when I'm older I'll get them. (:

I'm seriously technologically challenged, and I really have no idea how to use photoshop. Not a clue. So I thought drawing the items would be much easier, but then everything is in lead, therefore it's only in black and white. ); Sorry about that, but if you're really interested in the items, I suggest Googling them instead. (:

Anyhoo, getting kinda late for me now and I'm sick, so thanks for reading! (:

Update: Tiny Tower && Nails

Rimmel London 610 BLUE MY MIND && maybelline mini colorama 3 TUTTI FRUITTI
So not much has happened since I last updated. Yesterday ( Monday ) watched the last 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy - the Return of the King, on my computer because the disk wasn't working. It was such a good movie. Sad, but good. (:

Haven't been doing much lately, playing a lotta Tiny Tower. That little app is as addictive as ever! The first picture was taken weeks ago. I've also been cheating a lot on that. But the first time I did it, I didn't know it would screw up your game if you changed the time back. So I searched online and found out that you had to stock every level FIRST, then close it, change your date/time and open it again, and it would be working normally. (:

So little mishap there. ;P Also yesterday, painted my nails since the beginning of the year, with a new colour Julia ( www.littlemisscrayons.wordpress.com ) had given to me as a gift. I can't remember if it was a birthday or Christmas gift. Or neither. HAHA. :P Ah well, the colour is kinda like a deep indigo/violet and looks really nice. (:

But then TODAY, I got bored of it, and just added this really sheer glittery kinda nail polish on top. And NOW it looks really nice! It's like a duo chrome of purple and blue with rainbow glitter. Makes me really happy when I look at them. (:

I know the first picture is edited, so the colours are off, but it was for your eyecandy. ;)

Well, not much to say. Really need to finish off writing my Japanese notes now. (:

Thanks for reading!

Update: Trip to DFO ft. Julia && new purchases

So today, had tennis training in the morning, and tried my best to beat my coach, but failed. :P

Anyhoo, got home and changed, then went to pick up Julia ( www.littlemisscrayons.wordpress.com ) to go to the DFO ( direct factory outlet ) shopping centre. (: It has the cheapest crap there ever. ;P And you can pick up really nice bargains there. Oh this reminds me, I really want to go thrift shopping sometime soon. Anyways.

So we basically walked around, mainly went to our favourite stores. And I bought a pair of black cheap shorts from Cotton On since my old black shorts are starting to wear out and turning grey. It was only $5. I think it was really worth it. Tried it on in the store OVER my shorts, because couldn't be bothered to go to the changing rooms. Got many strange stares...

I tried taking a photo of them when I got home, but the lighting was horrible, and it just looked black and you couldn't see the details of the shorts.

They're really flattering, and they have this belt fabric thing that you can tie into a bow at the front. I'm so horrible at explaining, but I think you'll be seeing these in a outfit of the day post soon. :D On the tag, it says : 'Alison Tailored Shorts'. Love them already even though haven't worn them yet. (:

Oh nearly forgot, on a side note, I've already ripped my stockings, so going to get a new pair because they were really comfy. (:

Okay, so another item I got from Cotton On is a black tube/bodycon skirt. I know I bought a lotta black stuff, but really into the colour black at the moment. (: This skirt is kinda different, it's really texturised and everything. (: Didn't take a picture because of horrible lighting. Probably will see this in my outfits as well. (:

So for lunch, had this extremely filling asian cuisine thing. It was really nice though! Couldn't finish it sadly, and was really bloated afterwards.

Sweet sour pork and mongolian beef with boiled rice
Afterwards, headed to Westfield with Julia once again, because we ran outta things to get from DFO and wanted to get Boost Juice.

Also went to Dymocks with Julia, and she picked out some books, and I picked out a book which is a sequel to 'Bloodlines' which is so so good. And haven't read in a quite a while, and it was on sale. (:

The Golden Lily - Richelle Mead
Not much to say now, but thanks for reading! (:
